Dust the travertine regularly with a clean, soft cloth. For routine cleaning, use a soft damp cloth with mild pH-neutral soap or a cleaner specifically formulated for natural stone, then dry the surface thoroughly.
Blot spills immediately, particularly acidic substances such as citrus, vinegar, wine, coffee, and tomato-based foods. Natural travertine is porous, and acidic products may stain or etch its surface.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, bleach, vinegar-based products, and harsh chemicals. Use placemats, coasters, and trivets to help protect the table from moisture, scratches, staining, and hot serving pieces.
Natural pores, pits, veining, mineral markings, and tonal variation are inherent characteristics of travertine and are not considered defects.
